Help Ukrainian Firefighters in Need is an initiative run by Polsky Foundation. This project started on March 11, 2022, and since that, we have already collected over 250 tons of bunker/turnout gear, personal protective equipment (PPE), life rescue equipment, and medical supplies from fire departments and sellers in the United States and sent them to Ukraine, and we are continuing to do it 🇺🇦
How can you help us?
👉 We are not accepting monetary donations. We collect gear and equipment for the first responders in Ukraine.
👉 You can donate us firefighting gears (used or new) – bring them to our warehouse at any point in America, and we will ship them to Ukrainian firefighters as soon as possible!
👉 If you have the possibilities to help with shipping all the donations to Ukraine, it would also be a significant part of our cooperation!
👉 At last — informational support! Your repost does matter! One of our purposes is to raise awareness of the current situation in Ukraine among US citizens and spread information about what is going on there.
Join us — together, we can do more!

🔥🚒 Building a Strong Firefighting Career? Avoid These Social Media Slip-ups! 🚫📱
Hey there, fellow firefighters! 🚒👩🚒👨🚒 As we celebrate the dedication and courage that define our profession this Labor Day, let’s also take a moment to protect our career paths both on and off the front.
So, how not to Destroy Your Firefighting Career on Social Media?
1⃣ Loose Lips Sink Ships: We all love a good story, but sharing sensitive incident details can jeopardize investigations and trust within the team. Let’s remember to keep the specifics off our feeds.
2⃣ Say No to Sensitive Snaps: Posting pictures of incidents, victims, or damage can be invasive and disrespectful. We aim to save lives and serve our community with respect and empathy.
3⃣ Watch the Water Cooler Chatter: Engaging in gossip, negativity, or inappropriate comments reflects poorly on our professionalism. Let’s lift each other up and maintain a positive online presence.
4⃣ Politics and Perspectives: Sharing divisive opinions can alienate colleagues and create an unhealthy environment. While we’re entitled to our views, let’s keep discussions respectful and remember that we’re a united force.
5⃣ Booze and Bad Choices: Posting content that involves alcohol or risky behavior can damage our reputation and credibility. Let’s celebrate responsibly and avoid giving the wrong impression.
Be responsible and protect yourself! 🔥🇺🇸
SEPTEMBER 10, 2023
🎉 Let us take a moment this Labor Day to recognize the foundations that form our way of life!
Do you enjoy relaxing weekends? Enjoy those revitalizing lunch breaks? 🍔 Do you value paid vacations and rely on social security? Give a nod to labor unions and the American labor movement if you replied “yes” to any of these!
Behind every comfort we find in our careers there are years of relentless battles and inspiring legislation that paved the way for these fundamental privileges. This Labor Day, let’s not only soak in the long weekend but also reflect on the incredible contributions of the American workforce 🇺🇸👨🚒
So here’s to the hard-fought victories, the determined individuals, and the collective power that continues to shape our professional lives. Happy Labor Day, everyone! Let’s celebrate our progress and look forward to a brighter future for workers everywhere!

🙏 The full-scale war in Ukraine has been going on for almost a year and a half, and every day, unfortunately, is a loss of life. Human lives, weapons, and special equipment — along with successes, Ukraine is suffering losses too.
👉 During the full-scale war, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine lost more than 1,700 fire trucks, more than 300 fire stations, and more than 700 SES buildings of various types.
👉 As of March 2023, 68 Ukrainian rescuers have been killed and 201 others injured since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
We try to support Ukrainian rescuers with resources — we regularly collect and send donations for them from American firefighters, hold charity events, and organized a professional educational trip to the U.S. for Ukrainian firefighters to exchange experiences and new acquaintances 🧑🚒
Let’s do it together! You can donate gear or volunteer. Details are on our website!

🔥 Campfire Safety First! 🔥
Hey adventurers! As you gear up for your next camping trip, remember that a cozy campfire comes with responsibility. Remember your safety while you chill out at home.
Here are some vital tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable outdoor experience:
1⃣ Know Before You Go: Check local regulations for fire bans or restrictions. Let’s keep our wilderness and everyone safe!
2⃣ Pick Your Spot Wisely: Choose a clear area away from overhanging branches and tents. Safety starts with location!
3⃣ Clear the Zone: Create a 10-foot ring free from leaves and flammable materials. Space is your friend!
4⃣ Embrace Designated Pits: Use established fire pits or create a safe one with rocks. Let’s keep it contained.
5⃣ Tiny & Mighty: Keep the fire manageable. A more minor fire means easier control and less risk.
6⃣ H2O on Standby: Always have water or a fire extinguisher ready to douse those flames if needed.
7⃣ Stay Vigilant: Never leave your campfire unattended. Safety is a team effort!
8⃣ Finish Strong: When you’re done, extinguish with water, stir the ashes, and ensure it’s cold.
Let’s protect our wild spaces and make memories safely. Share this post to spread the word and tag your adventure buddies! 🏕️🌲🌄

Forest fires in Hawaii have spread quickly across the island due to the elemental nature. The fire burned entire neighborhoods in the city of Lahaina. Because of the number of victims, the fire has been called the greatest disaster in Hawaii’s history when it became a U.S. state 🚒🔥
👉 The wildfires in Hawaii have claimed the lives of at least 80 people. According to the latest data, the fire in Lahaina is 85% contained, while the fire in the vicinity of the island of Maui is only 50% contained.
We are confident American firefighters will bravely cope with the natural disaster thanks to their skill and fortitude! 🇺🇸
Ukrainian firefighters also express their outstanding support to their American colleagues. The whole world hopes for a speedy resolution of the situation! 👩🚒🙏

Unforgettable educational experience at the 11th Fire and Rescue Department of Kharkiv!
Recently, Kharkiv children and their parents visited the city’s 11th Fire and Rescue Department @dsns_kharkiv , where our friend and dedicated firefighter Roman Kachanov @roman.kachanov.ua works. It was a unique opportunity to learn more about the work and lives of real heroes – firefighters! 🧑🚒👨🚒
This day was full of excitement and learning. Little researchers with big dreams had the opportunity to meet the firefighters who risk their lives every day to save others. The kids admired the rescue equipment, the fire trucks, and their work. They had the opportunity to put themselves in the shoes of professional rescuers, feel themselves like rescuers and explore all the equipment🚨Fascinating, isn’t it?
It was a useful experience, as the Kharkiv firefighters also shared with the children of Ukraine the information they learned during their trip to America when they visited several American fire stations!

🔥 Firefighter Fun Facts: Did You Know? 🔥
Get ready to be amazed by these five fascinating and lesser-known facts about #firefighters! 🚒💡
1️⃣ The first organized firefighting force dates back to ancient Rome. Emperor Augustus established a group known as the «Vigiles,» responsible for combating fires and keeping the city safe.
2️⃣ Firefighters have their special language called «firefighter speak» or «fireground communications.» It uses specific codes and abbreviations to relay information quickly and efficiently during emergencies.
3️⃣ Firefighters’ turnout gear (protective clothing) can weigh up to 75 pounds (34 kg). That’s like carrying a whole bunch of heavy textbooks on their backs!
4️⃣ Dalmatians were commonly kept in fire stations in the past. They got along well with the horses used to pull fire engines. These loyal dogs also helped calm the horses during fire responses.
5️⃣ Firefighters are true innovators, utilizing advanced technology like thermal imaging cameras, drones, and communication systems to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness in fire suppression and rescue operations.
🌟 These intriguing facts give you a glimpse into the lives of these everyday heroes. Let’s celebrate the bravery, dedication, and remarkable skills of firefighters who go above and beyond to keep us safe.
Do you have any interesting firefighter facts to share? Comment below, and let’s continue to appreciate these incredible individuals who make a difference every day! 💪👩🚒👨🚒

A terrible night for Odesa and Mykolaiv regions 😡🚒🔥
Russia attacked grain terminals and port infrastructure in the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk. On the night of July 19, Russia launched a targeted air attack on grain terminals in the ports. The infrastructure of international and Ukrainian traders was damaged. Several large fires were extinguished overnight 👩🚒
❗️The worst factor is that civilian objects were destroyed: several new houses in Odesa were damaged while people slept, dozens of cars were damaged beyond repair, trade pavilions, a fireworks warehouse, technical facilities were burning, and, most frighteningly, more than 30 people were injured ❗️
‼️ Civilians are suffering. Innocent children and adults are suffering. The price for peace is measured in human lives ‼️
We support Odesa with all our hearts and are ready to help in any way we can! We wish to stay strong to the firefighters and peace to all the Ukrainians! 🙏🕊

People die in #Ukraine every day. There are thousands of victims – civil Ukrainians, militaries, rescuers, and doctors. Ukrainian defenders continue to do their best to save lives despite the challenges. But Ukraine still needs support and resources to address the ongoing difficulties caused by the war.
When the war began, the occupiers destroyed or seized more than 1,300 emergency vehicles. The remaining 54% of automobiles are both morally and technologically outmoded. Due to constant use and damage, the kit quickly falls into disrepair. Another problem is the accessibility of safety equipment.
Together we must rebuild the country, train #firefighters, and equip them with the necessary tools. Standing together will make the difference! 🕊️🙌

🚨 Urgent Request! 🚨
Bakhmach in the #Chernihiv region urgently requires our assistance at Fire Station No. 14. The city’s population is only 16,862. At least 65 Russian military units crossed through #Bachmach on February 26, 2022, and there were probably another 100 or more on the outside.
And now the situation is critical, with an immediate requirement of 60 fire hoses that they last got 12 years ago. Its 29 firefighters also need essential equipment, including helmets, belts, gloves, shoes, lanterns, and rescue ropes.
Last summer, they were fortunate to receive a new truck, but devastatingly, it was taken away after just three months. Now, we can support these brave firefighters who risk their lives to keep the community safe.
Let’s come together and make a difference! Your contributions can save lives and protect the city of Bakhmach. Please share this post and contact us if you can donate something!

Celebrating Children’s Day! 👶
On this particular occasion of #Children‘s Day, let’s remember all the good things we do every day for our kids and congratulate them in this warm summer day 🚒❤️
While children enjoy their laughter and innocence, remember the selfless heroes who protect them from danger. These courageous #firefighters often face challenging conditions and lack essential resources for life-saving duties. Imagine the smiles on children’s faces when they see a firetruck racing to their rescue or the calming words of a firefighter ensuring their safety. These everyday heroes are the pillars of strength for our children, but they need our support too.
Every child deserves to grow up in a safe environment; every kid must have a happy and enjoyable childhood, and everyone needs protection and peace.
Hug all the Ukrainian children! Congratulations to all the little heroes in the world! You are our best future!

Today, on the 8th of May, we remember and honor those who lost their lives during the Second World War. It is a time of remembrance and reconciliation as we reflect on the sacrifices made by so many to secure the freedoms we appreciate today 🙏🏻
We pay tribute to the soldiers who fought bravely, the fallen rescuers, the civilians who endured unimaginable hardship, and the families who lost loved ones. We also acknowledge the role played by those who worked tirelessly to promote peace and reconciliation in the aftermath of the war.
As we remember the past, let us look to the future with hope and determination. Let us work together to build a world where every conflict is resolved peacefully, and all people can live in dignity and freedom.
Let us honor the memory of those who gave their lives by fighting for a better world, and let us never forget the lessons of the past.

Paying Respect to Our Fallen Heroes
Our visit to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation @fireheronfff in Washington was an emotionally charged experience that will forever be etched in our hearts. We had the profound honor of paying our respects to the fallen brothers and sisters of the American fire service at the hallowed grounds of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
The memorial is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by these courageous individuals who selflessly risked their lives to protect others. We stood in solemn silence, reflecting on their unwavering dedication and profound impact on the firefighting community.
But our journey didn’t end there. NFFF’s outstanding staff told us about the foundation’s history and tireless efforts to remember fallen firefighters and support their families. It was an eye-opening experience reinforcing the importance of unity, compassion, and remembrance within the firefighting community.
We are forever grateful to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation for their warm welcome and for enlightening us with their dedication and unwavering service!
